The Kraut-psychedelic debut manifest from Izakaya Heartbeat “Ancient Asobi/In Arcadia” is finally available on CD and digital formats from January 22nd 2010.

What started out as Christian Larsen’s solo project, was originally intended for studio sessions and album release only.
With help from Kenneth Amundsen on drums and engineering the album was slowly and thoroughly committed to the reels at North Beach Studio in Oslo.
It would take three years to complete the album, and with guest artists from a wide range of Oslo’s indie rock scene, it soon became evident that the project would have to play live shows.    

With a hand picked live ensemble featuring members from Serena Maneesh/Le Corbeau, Mindy Misty, Far From Tellus, Epikurs Euforie and Don Jon Doxy –Izakaya Heartbeat played their first show at Metronomicon Audio’s annual By;Alarm festival in Oslo Feb. 2009.

Several more shows and festivals soon followed.

The album has received national airplay and favorable reviews by several stations and tastemakers in Norway. The band is also booked to By:Larm 2010 - Norway’s equivalent to SXSW.

Vinyl out on Y.E.S records later in 2010.
